This is such a hot question in today's news and political runnings, but for me, it is difficult to understand why it is such a tough question to answer. The numbers show that so many lives (babies, fetuses, whatever you want to call them) are not given the chance to continue past twelve weeks. Does the way a child was conceived (by rape, et cetera) or the way in which a child is raised (poor) disvalue the opportunity of a child's life? I think not. In fact, I am appalled by our society's nature to simply be selfish and look out for the interest of them self over everyone else, even their own child. Do individuals today not consider adoption? Or is our pride and reputation's value so great that we can overcome for a possible life? For those that are considering aborting your child, I ask, what if your mother had gone to the clinic when "you" were less than twelve weeks from conception?
I read a news article on FoxNews.com yesterday that spoke of abortion's realities and rhetoric. FoxNews.com quoted a recent study done by ThirdWay entitled "The Demographics of Abortion." I've included some interesting facts below...
"Since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973, there have been more than 40 million abortions in America. According to the study, “one of every three American women will have an abortion by the time they reach 45.” Additionally, in a typical year there are 4.1 million live births, 1.3 million abortions and 900,000 miscarriages. The study found that “the average woman who seeks an abortion is 24 years old, unwed, earns a yearly income of about $25,000 and already is a mother…She has religious beliefs and is a Christian…the typical abortion is performed around the eighth week — well within the first trimester.”" - FoxNews.com
Abortion is defined as "Termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival." -
www.dictionary.com. It is unbelievable to me that this process is legal, and even more so, that people choose to abort embryo and fetuses. If they'd only wait nine months, they'd have a child born of and created by God.
May God spare our nation and forgive us of our sins and wrongdoing?
